In the council service center at 1207 Upas St. there is a very old uniform on the wall. This uniform belonged to a scout who was in Troop 24. We know this scout was a Patrol Leader because of the two green bars on his left sleeve. We also know he was a Eagle Scout because of the Eagle medal on his. He has 29 merit badges on his sash including metalworking and archery. At the bottom left corner there is an extra neckerchief which is almost identical to the ones scouts in Troop 24 use today.

In 1963 at the 14th annual San Diego Scout Fair Troop 24 built a rope bridge at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The bridge was built using diagonal lashings to create X-frames. This rope bridge was "among the most popular attractions with the crowd of 40,000 spectators" according to an undated Union Tribune Article titled "Demonstration of Skills". This article must have been published awhile after 1963 because the photo was credited to the San Diego Historical Society.

Scouts from Explorer Post 201 and Troop 24 made world contacts through special telephone arrangements and "Oscar 7" amateur radio satellite. The idea originated with Scoutmaster William Cheverton, of Point Loma's Troop 24.
The celebration included a colorful "Parade of U.N. Flags" carried by California youth from many different organizations.

In 2009 Troop 24 had reached a very low amount scouts, with only 8 in the Troop. During this time most scouts were between 8th grade and 12th grade, and no new scouts were joining the Troop. But in 2010 several cub scouts joined our Troop and the numbers doubled from only 8 scouts to more than 16 scouts. All of the younger scouts formed three patrols; The Black Cobras, the Ram Rods, and the Vikings giving the older scouts chances to become patrol leaders.
